Our Story

The journey began with Star Telecom Network, a premier prepaid phone card distributor where I served as CEO and Elizabeth Pereda managed the sales department. With 75% of our revenue coming from calls to Mexico, we developed a deep respect for and connection to the Mexican community.

The inspiration for TravelCareMexico struck when Liz met a principal from TelAsist who was looking to expand their assistance services into Los Angeles. This led us to visit TelAsist's headquarters in Mexico, where we saw a mature local operation built to help people navigate urgent situations with bilingual coordination, roadside support, legal guidance, and access to local service networks.

Following a successful meeting in Los Angeles with TelAsist's CEO, we devised a program tailored for the millions of travelers who visit Mexico annually. By leveraging TelAsist's existing infrastructure, we launched TravelCareMexico to provide affordable, 24/7 bilingual assistance and coordination for travelers who do not want to face emergencies alone in an unfamiliar country.
